Journal 85 - These Boots Are Made For Walking? Not In Moscow!

Journal 85

Friday - 11-19-10

Decided to break in my new boots today -- probably not the best idea to walk all day in them… Whoops… My feet hurt! (But no blisters, thankfully!)

Unfortunately for my shoes, Moscow "sidewalks" will kill your heels. One day out, and the very bottom "heel" part is already halfway worn away!!!! Ugh. At least shoe repair seems to be cheap here!!!

I had my Lunch with Bellini at Hard Rock, and we had a great time!! She really enjoyed the place.

We left together for the excursion to the Folk Dance School/Studio - it was very neat! We basically got to observe part of a class / rehearsals for a show that they'd be putting on. It was beautiful! Very impressive.

Once it was over, I started off for my own Dance practice, but took a little bit of time to run into a shoes/accessory store to look, once again, for shoes for the Marine Corps Birthday Ball.

*Apparently,* I am going to have to get up early, because some sale on clutches and heels is starting *in the morning.*

I was standing at the check out counter, and when the price that came up didn't match the sale signs posted all around the store, I asked about it.

The store woman told me that the sale didn't start until the next day -- maybe 15 hours from the point in time I was standing in the store. Still, she tried to get me to go ahead with my purchase. I told her, "Umm... You're telling me that these may be cheaper tomorrow, and you still want me to buy them tonight? I'll wait."

Which means that, tomorrow morning, I get to run out to go get the shoes and the clutch, run back home; then shower, dress, do my make up; and go get my hair done. After that, I'll walk another 100 feet (seriously), get to the Embassy, and then go off with the Marines to wherever the ball is being held.

The rest of the night was just me going to practice, returning home, having dinner, and then chatting with friends. Tomorrow, it's the Ball!!! =^____^=

Love,

Moscow Kitty
