My friend Bekah-chan's birthday!!!!!!!!!!!
Went to Liga, 'cause Pete invited us to watch NFL football -- said the guys were supposed to come. NO ONE else showed.
Pete wound up introducing me to a group of three Russians at the bar, and some people on the other side of the bar from me. I wound up chatting with the Russians. The two guys gave me a bit of a lesson in Russian curse words, while their female friend was saying, "What are you teaching this young American girl!?!?" -- And she also kept asking why on earth I would leave the US for Moscow.
Good night of chatting, really.
Then, when it passed midnight, Pete reminded everyone it was my birthday -- and unbeknownst to me, the three Russians I'd been chatting with got a dessert for me, with a candle in it -- and then everyone sitting at the bar sang me happy birthday! First, in English, and a little later on, they sang it all over again, but in Russian!
It was slightly awkward for a moment, when the people at the bar asked, "Why are you all alone!? Where are all your friends!?"
I shrugged and said, "They decided not to come out to night, that's all."
Pete looked at me and said, "That's okay, pumpkin. You just remember who didn't let you down --"
I started to laugh, thinking he was going to reference himself, when suddenly, straw in hand, he gestured to the Russians I'd been chatting with, and the people on the other side of the bar, and he finished, " --THESE GUYS!!"
-- They tried to get me to drink a champagne toast -- I turned around so Pete couldn't get a picture of me with the champagne flute -- and then he was sweet enough to pour me some pineapple juice into one of the flutes.

Got back home around 1 AM - have school and dance tomorrow -- I'm hoping to have dance lessons on my birthday. We'll see if it happens.
