Journal 59 - Russian Dacha II

Journal 59

10-24-10

Woke up pretty early -- went downstairs with Masha.

Improvised French Toast -- no Vanilla or Cinnamon though, so I just did a hard carmel coat on the outside. Masha really liked it! I was happy!

Added leftover salad, breakfast. Tea

Saw how nice the weather was -- moved breakfast outside! Really nice. Warm Sun.

Sasha had to catch a train somewhere -- we took her, but it left early! (First time in Russia's history, we joked.)

While we were waiting for Sasha and Masha to find us, Dima and I were sitting in the station -- heard an announcement that was barely intelligible, and I asked Dima if it was hard for him to understand, too -- or being that it was his native language, he picked up on it just fine. It was hard for him, too! Ha ha ha. (Bad acoustics and bad/old equipment didn't help, he said.)

Took Sasha to another train station.

Started back home -- I was starting to watch the clock, because I was supposed to hang out with Mulzoff -- then we decided to stop and go walk in the woods some! (Masha wanted to, and to look for some mushrooms.)

It was very pretty, I'll admit! And the ground was surprisingly springy!

Fallen tree, with roots all up-rooted -- amazing sight. I was so mad I left my camera!

No (edible) mushrooms

Air was so nice and fresh!

By the time we got back; cleaned up; ate; then cleaned up again; and finally got out the door, we were already an hour past when we were supposed to arrive back in Moscow in the first place. We were lucky there wasn't too much traffic on the way home, but by the time we finally got into the city, when I got a hold of Mulzoff, he said it probably wouldn't work out for us to hang out. We were both really bummed about that, but agreed we'd hang out tomorrow.

With my plans cancelled, Dima and Masha asked if I wanted to go to a ballroom competition that was being held -- and with nothing else to do instead, I said, "Sure!"

It wasn't an IDSF competition, it was some other one. Pretty interesting. Heard a few good songs.

Masha and I talked about comps -- she's all excited to help me learn how to do my hair, etc here. "I want to make you a dress -- I have this image of you as a Spanish dancer -- we'll do your hair [ ], and get a big, red flower…!"

*laughs* We were both pretty excited. And see, Mutti? Spain must have imparted at least some energy to me, to give her that idea!! Ha ha ha!
