Journal 65 - Bad Morning - Halloween Party

Journal 65

10-30-10

Following the Bad Night, I had not the most pleasant morning… Found out my dog, Lucky, passed away back home. My poor mutti, she sent me an email, and I could see just how terrible she felt to do it.

I felt worse, knowing how badly she was feeling *for* me -- but I'd already been grieving for this moment for a long time. I knew my dog was not going to make it through the year -- and truth be told, I thought it would be sometime this month.

I had the chance to see him again during the summer, and got to say goodbye -- I was thankful for that, and I'm thankful for the fact that my dog is no longer suffering. Still… It's never a great way to start the day…

**********

Later, considering my situation -- I knew my friends were mostly dancing on Sunday, my Marines had been all but begging me to go to their party, Natasha wanted me to accompany her to the party (and her boy had just left), and I was in need of some smiles, thanks to the mix of: Dance Drama, Jewelry Disappearing, and My Dog Dying -- I decided to go to the Halloween Party.

It made Natasha happy. =^__^= And when Josue came to pick us up at the gate, after we'd all said hello, he then did a double take to me, and said, "Wait… Didn't you give up something to be here!? Awww!!!!"

It was all very sweet.

As for what I went as, I just took one of my long, black, formal dresses; put my hair into a crazy up-do; and went as a 1930s era lounge/jazz singer. It was fun -- you can't beat getting to get all dolled up!

I stayed for maybe 2 hours -- I ducked out early, however, as I finally got my birthday presents from my friend, and he had to be in bed before too long, so he gave me a ride home before he had to get his beauty sleep.

Of course, the rest of my friends didn't want me to go!! I felt a little bad for ducking out early. Sorry guys!!

Still, I got to enjoy seeing people in some crazy costumes, wear a long dress, play a game of pool in said long dress, and generally have a good time with my friends. Not a bad night, all things considered.

And, now I have my cookie racks!!! Hooray!!!!! I'm going to pray this means schedules will work out so that I can make cookies soon… I've been waiting since the summer to do it…

Love,

MK
