Journal 97

4-22-10

Somehow, even knowing, last night, that there wasn't supposed to be practice today -- I still packed ALL of my dance stuff, along with my school stuff today.

This is because I had promised to go to Russian-American Club today, and wouldn't have had time to go home, get my stuff, and have a full practice otherwise.

I realized that there was no practice once I'd gotten about two minutes away from home. Ack.

Luckily for me, at the end of the Day, Nastëna texted me to say there would be practice after all !!! Thus, for the first time all day, I didn't feel like such a complete and utter fool!! Having all of my dance stuff had not been in vain after all!! So, I rushed off to practice after Russian American Club, just as I had originally thought that I would be doing that morning.

-- Slightly Randomly, from School --

We got new songs in Phonetics today -- they are pretty fun!

One is from "Little Red Riding Hood," or a cartoon version of it or something -- it's very sweet, and *really* catchy. I quite love it!

The other is a song about rabbits, literally -- that's the title. "Song About Rabbits." It comes from one of Russia's cult-classic comedic films, "Brilliantovaya Ruka" (Diamond Hand.) -- It is also very catchy, and will get stuck in your head, and will absolutely ruin the phrase, "Vsyo ravno," ("It's all ok / It's all the same.") for you -- because it's in that catchy song's chorus, and if you hear that phrase, before you can help yourself, you will be humming the song.

As I said earlier, I was just happy that I HAD practice today -- and in the end, it wasn't half bad. The room was a little crowded. Beyond that, however, there were some really great moments… Now if I could just make those moments my, "100% of the time" motions…. I need to *think* about what I am doing!

After practice, I went to go hang out with Mulzoff! (Awesomeness!) -- We started watching, "The Bourne Identity," as I'd never seen it before -- and I realized just how nice it was not to be the only one with some idea of, "reality" when it came to watching action/military flicks!

Example: "Why would I kick the door in? I have the *keys*." (-- From Mulzoff.)

Also, Mulzoff was kind enough to share with me this quote from a "De-Motivational Poster" -- that had me laughing so hard in the streets I think we were both afraid that someone would come to see what he'd done to me. It reads as follows:

"America! -- We Will Kill You In Your Sleep, On Christmas."

(In reference to Washington's "Crossing the Delaware.")

I finally have a dance lesson tomorrow!!! We have Sochi on Sunday. The TV Tower Excursion is also tomorrow.

Exhaustedly,
