Another day of class -- where I'm just all sorts of out of it this week. Worried about my friend, grieving for the other; homework is something of the last thing on my mind… I'm just trying to get through.
On a happy note, in our magnificent Music lecture, we talked about Rachmaninov today!! =^__^=
He liked Cars. (Apparently. The things we learn. *laughs)
… Oh, and I missed 3 on that Vocabulary quiz… Unfortunately, 2 of them were related to each other, and I couldn't remember the root word for the life of me…

Not remotely class related, but Russian-Learning related, I *totally* had one of those magical, "Moments of 'Understanding'" on the Escalator in the Metro today!
You see, I've been using the Metro almost every day since I arrived in Moscow. And every day, as I run up and down the escalators, there is always this announcement track playing. Every day, I've not understood a single thing that's been said. Ha ha ha. It's something like having the "Charlie Brown" sound effect on all of the adults.
That typically leaves me praying that no important announcement comes up, such as, "There's a fire, get out now!" etc.
I digress --
I was on the escalator today, and just out of NOWHERE -- ALL of the words in the announcement suddenly became clear! While I didn't know the meaning of everything that was being said, I could understand all of the words, and *did* actually understand about 80-90% of the entire audio track!!! I was really surprised! More because I didn't think that kind of Hollywood, "I know Kung-Fu," (i.e. - "I woke up today, and I'm fluent!") moment actually happened in any fashion at all!!
So, that's kind of happy.

I had the appointment with Sasha's friend for the second dance studio today… I didn't really have the heart or the desire to be wanting to go -- but I also certainly didn't want to snub anyone, and I didn't want to miss any opportunities. Thus, I went off to the dance studio -- it wasn't all that great, but bless at least one of the girls there, she was so nice! She was telling me to come back to the next lesson, and that she hoped I would come to the studio.
What it basically amounted to was that there are two group lessons per week, one in Latin, and one in Standard. But the timing is bad, and as I have no partner, it's sort of a waste of time for me… I'd love to see the Standard lessons, but again, by oneself, it's not so great.

I rushed off to my *real* dance studio after that, to try to practice -- thank goodness, people actually stayed until about 10 tonight, so I got just under an hour of practice. Anything is better than nothing, right?
Ol'ya and I walked to the Metro together after practice; and when she saw my French version of, "Le Petit Prince," she asked me to read to her (aloud) on the Metro!! It was pretty funny. She loves French, so she was happy to hear me. … It was a reminder to me that I should read the book out loud more… *needs French practice desperately…..*

I visited at the John Donne a little bit; left for home, finally -- had a LATE dinner; and then I went off to bed.
