= @_@ = -- Sick, and I'm getting behind on the journal again. Great. = @_@ =
**********
So, I woke up this morning -- after yet ANOTHER night of tossing and turning -- and decided this was not going to be a day I was going to school… I texted John and Vika right away, to let the former know I wouldn't be at school, and to ask the latter if it would be possible to get to the doctor's today.
I also got a lovely lecture from Olga about how I wasn't sleeping because I was coming back so late at night. (It was no use arguing that coming back late had nothing to do with being able to sleep or not; not to mention that the reason I was back so late last night was due to Russian Hospitality; and the reason that I was out late was because I was crying about upsetting her!)
After I spent a few hours of the morning hacking whatever I could out of my lungs and my sinuses (a round of events that made me glad I hadn't tried to go to school), Vika called me back, and told me to meet at a certain Metro Stop at 11:30; which was great, and I crawled back into bed to rest until I had to leave.
Except … that when Vika said, "11:30," I had heard, "1:30." =>_<= You can imagine how much *better* I felt when Vika called at 11:30, wondering where I was… Between yesterday and this morning, I've definitely gotten the feeling that I can't do much of *anything* right. Oy vey.
Thankfully, however, I still managed to get out to meet Vika; we still went to the doctor's; and I still got to have an appointment.
Plusses of the day at the doctor's office:
* It's an International/European medical center -- so there are people on staff who speak English/French/German/etc.
* My doctor's name happened to be Vitaly -- I find it hilarious that I'd never heard that name before coming to Russia, and within 2 weeks, I have met two of them.
* Whatever I've got, hasn't managed to reach my lungs yet -- it's all just localized in my throat.
* I have a 3 day course of Antibiotics; day 1 was today; day 2 is obviously tomorrow -- but I'll have all day before Hustle for the medicine to work its magic; and I should be on/finished with day 3, and thus, all better, before my next dance lesson!!!!!!!!
* I had to go do blood tests, and meet with another doctor (for something else) -- which I managed to do all in Russian.
Minuses of the day at the doctor's office:
* Well, I'm sick, obviously.
* If these antibiotics don't kill whatever this is, and make me better, I have to go back (right away).
*** Due to how our international insurance works, we have to pay out of pocket, and get reimbursed later. … Which means I'm pretty sure that ~ $700 USD just came "out of pocket."
Not Really A Plus, Not Really A Minus:
* I have never seen so many vials of blood taken for a "blood test" (or, apparently, a general work up, so they have a picture of my situation, through my blood) !! -- I'm not joking, I'm quite sure they took at least 6 vials of blood. I'm almost positive it was 7.
* My throat hurts like hell right now -- quite possibly worse than it has leading up to this point. I'm going to hope that this is because the epic battle of Bacteria versus Antibiotics has begun. Or something like that. = O-o =

Well, it's 11:06 right now -- and I still have homework to do… I suppose I should get that all taken care of, and try to be in bed before 1 AM, huh? With any luck, maybe I will sleep well tonight?
Exhaustedly,

PS - I finally bought Olga flowers. I'm not really sure if they had as much as an effect as I'd hoped for. But hell, it's $3 bucks a (little) Rose, I bought her 3 of them, and I'm a broke-ish student with no income -- can I get a little credit?
