4-6-10 (The Wee Hours)
I think that designation is what I'm going to use from now on when writing late at night. *laughs* That way I don't have to "change the date," but the idea is still quite apparent that the time is past midnight.

I was back at school today -- and it was mostly ok.
I had Grammar today, where I learned two things:
1. The concept/phrase of "Welcome Back" or "Welcome Home" don't exist in Russian, per se. Which is a shame! (Lilia Leonidovna thinks it's sad, too.) -- Essentially, one just says that one is happy to see the other person in question again.
2. I can't pronounce the verb " exhat' " ("ехать") correctly. = O-o =
Suffice it to say, I thought there was a " ë " ("yo") where there is only an "e" ("eh") -- [which is supposed to be de-voiced to "и" ("ih") in the case of this verb's conjugations anyway…] -- so yeah, that was awfully embarrassing, to find out that I have been making such a mistake for such a long time…! At least it's fixed-ish now…. And I have to say "ish," because I still am having trouble with putting the proper accent onto the word. I'll conquer it in the end! Ha ha ha.

The day passed, and evening came…. And Tuesday evening can only mean ONE thing!
Hustle!!!!!!!!!!!
And this time, Brittany, Natasha, Merin, and Jessica came with me!!!! (Brittany is one of the AY students, the other three are all part of my group, only here for the Semester.) It was really fun to have company, and they all really enjoyed themselves, too!! Andrei (my older gentleman friend) actually got Jessica to come out and dance -- everyone else was content to just sit and watch.
I got to dance with Maxim again -- who was there, just like Yuri said he would be. I hadn't seen him for the longest time!!! Alëna (Maxim's friend/girlfriend?) was back, too! I was soooo happy to see them both there, along with having my friends there!
Even better, I was hearing some new songs that were just *fantastic* !! Of course, there were also old favorites, too. Yuri and Sergei were fantastic, as normal!
Now, normally, I'd say that a night couldn't get better than having amazing music, good friends, wonderful dance partners around… But tonight… I saw something that I didn't think I was going to get to see in Russia -- moreover, outside of the Purdue Latin and Ballroom Dance Team…
Tonight… I saw...
SAME-SEX HUSTLE!!!!!!
Oh my Goodness, I was SO excited to see it! I about *died* of laughter right there...! (And Merin got it on tape!!!)
-- A quick time-out, before I horrify anyone:
You see, every so often, in ballroom, you'll see girls leading girls, or guys leading guys. We call this, "Same-Sex" dancing. It's no big deal -- typically, when the girls do it, it's because we want to learn to lead and/or we're having fun -- and when the guys do it, well, for whatever reason, it's just a riot!! Ha ha ha. Maybe it's because most of the time, when guys are doing it, they're just so over-the-top and ridiculous about it, you can't help but laugh. Who knows?
Regardless, at Purdue University, one of the hallmark events of the yearly competition there is, "Same-Sex Rumba" -- and having left Purdue, and being in Russia, I was pretty sure I was not going to see ANY such kind of hijinks going on!
Thus, you can imagine my nostalgia and excitement, to see Maxim, and another very good leader, dancing together, out of the blue!!! They were actually switching the lead and follow roles throughout the whole song (based on certain tricks they were doing) -- and it was just fantastic!
We were all cheering and cat-calling the whole time, and of course, we applauded at the end!!
(Now, I know it was funny / a little surprising to some of the people who were there -- but I think the whole thing was made SO much better by the fact that I had the other four (American) girls with me, who had never seen anything like that before in their lives. XD They were definitely cheering!)

Other Bright Spots:
Before we left for the night, Olga (Yuri's Wife) started telling me that apparently, at the Club Yuri and Sergei work at, they do Hustle lessons the on Tues/Thurs. She wanted me to go, and I think she said I could come for free! We'll see what's what with that -- but it would certainly be fun to do on Tuesday nights (the only night I have free).
Andrei brought me so many chocolates it's not even funny!!! Oh my goodness!! The bag is massive this week!!
We went to leave for the evening, and I was sad, because I didn't see Yuri anywhere to say goodbye! We walked out, and as we were crossing the street, I heard someone yell my name. I spun around, there there was Yuri!!!!! I had thought he might have already left, but it seems he hadn't -- and he followed us out to say goodbye! It was so sweet! I ran right back to give him a hug and say goodnight!

Back in the present:
Unfortunately, I won't have a lesson tomorrow. :( Vitaly is getting sick himself. But! He and his partner took Gold in Spain!!! I'm so happy for them!! Thus, I'll see Vitaly when he's feeling better, and it will just be 2 hours of practice for me tomorrow. I can't wait to get back [to the studio]!! = O_o =
Now, it's time for homework. = @_@ = Oh, but I am sleepy!! (And yet, I feel as if, were I to go to bed, it wouldn't make a difference. = O-o = )
Love, wanting sleep,
