Journal 82

Journal 82

4-7-10 ; The Wee Hours

Mmm, Oreos! I'm sitting here, working on wrecking my "diet" more -- I FINALLY just got dinner (2:10 AM, when I came in), and am now munching on cookies and journaling. Ha ha ha….

**********

It was a good day of class; but we got held up in Dance, so I was late getting home...

**********

I was chatting with Lissay today about plans for this evening, because he'd told me he was getting together with some of the other Marines, and we agreed that we'd meet up after dance. His time to leave got moved up to Friday!! It's so sad! So, I'm definitely trying to make time to hang out today and tomorrow with him.

I went off to practice -- and I've decided that I should pull a "Two-Face," and start flipping a coin before I head to practice, because it's starting to feel like, every other time or so I go to the studio, something odd happens!!!

Today, it was some strange guy, talking to me, and then just looking at me. He saw what I was reading (My highlighted homework -- probably a big flag I'm not a fluent Russian speaker…) and had started talking to me -- but I both couldn't hear him well, and didn't understand him -- so I told him as much, and then proceeded to ignore him. He tried to talk to me a few more times, but mostly settled for just *watching* me. When I moved off a little ways, he thought I was getting off the Metro, and said something to the effect of, "You're leaving so soon?" -- I almost wished I was. But I also figured he'd be leaving before me, as my stop is almost the last one on the line. As luck would have it, I was wrong -- his stop was the same as mine!! He and his friend moved to the door as I did, and he wound up next to me. He said something to the effect of, "You want some chocolate?" ("Ты будешь шоколад?") -- and I proceeded to put LOTS of distance between us. I figured that, since he was with a friend, he wasn't going to pursue me at all. So, I ran up the escalator, and caught the light to cross the street as it was changing. Still, I wound up looking over my shoulder the whole way to the dance studio, and I was quite happy to get there!!! = @_@ =

Was it "Finding Nemo," that had the line, "Happy feeling's gone now -- " ?

(I'm pretty sure it was -- with the Angler Fish Scene… Ha ha ha…)

Neways, that was certainly the feeling I had once Practice started… It was definitely rough at first. Well, for most of it! I was pretty darn thankful I didn't have a lesson today -- or Vitaly may have killed me! It was bad… That's what I get for not practicing for half a week, and getting sick, I suppose.

Thankfully, it at least seemed to be shaping up by the end?

I also saw Liza again -- she was so friendly, she came over to me, and we chatted some! She's such a nice girl. *smiles* It certainly perked my night up a little bit.

**********

Once practice was over, I rushed out to go meet up with Lissay -- he and the guys were going someplace, but he said that he could come get me with one of their drivers!

So, Lissay picked me up from the Metro, along with 4 other Marines in tow (Tim (Whom I loved before!); Alfie; Tito ("The One and Only"); and Ross.). As we were walking back to the car, he said, "Yeah, we're the big, scary, white van over there." And I just died laughing: being offered chocolate by a strange man, and getting into a white van all in one night?? Could I *get* any more stereotypical?! *laughing*

Also, while we were crossing the street (J-Walking), Lissay said, "You look left, I'll look Right; Do you trust me?" I responded, "Do I love candy?!?! How could I NOT trust a Marine!? No one else better to trust my life with!"

So, we joined the group, and went off to a restaurant right across from the Metro Station I use every morning when I go to school!!!

I LOVE hanging out with Marines. =^_____^=

They told me I have to/should be partying with them more. *laughs* So true! And I wouldn't want to go with anyone else!

**********

As we walked into the restaurant, I handled the, "How many? Where do you want to sit?" conversation with the hostess, which led Alfie to wonder whether or not I was Russian, which led to us having the, "Where are you from!?" conversation!!

We were all joking around about plans for the future, and with Tim, we all loosely said that we should have a Reunion together in Vegas in a few years!!!

Tim and I were talking travel and music -- and as we were talking about music, it got brought up that I had the theme songs for both, "Bill Nye the Science Guy," as well as, "Where In The World Is Carmen San Diego?" The former brought up the fact that I have danced with Bill Nye the Science Guy (Lindy Hop) -- which is probably the proudest moment of my life, as a Geek; while the latter brought up a discussion of Carmen San Diego's thieving skills, best described by the ever-magnificent Tim:

"My mom would know if my hand was in the cookie jar -- but Carmen can just walk away with the Golden Gate Bridge?!!? No way!!"

After that, we got into a discussion of Gaming -- game systems, beloved games, etc. It was great!! I missed chatting about video games!

**********

Among the Rabble:

** We were chatting about the movie, "Tombstone" at one point -- because Tito asked me who my favorite actor was. I responded, "Sir Anthony Hopkins!!" -- and then asked Tito who his favorite was. When he told me, "Billy Bob Thorton," I told him that my favorite role of BIlly Bob's was in "Tombstone."

I also said, "You know, you could probably get a pretty good drinking game going from that movie… Take a shot every time Wyatt Earp kicks someone's ass…!" *laughs*

**From Tombstone, we moved on to chatting about, "3:10 To Yuma" (the remake) and,"The Big Lebowski." (Thank you Marky, for having me watch both "Tombstone," and "The Big Lebowski," before I left the States!!!)

** I was watching Alfie make Fireballs in the palm of his hand, with his lighter -- which reminded me of watching my amazing friend Cory do the very same thing years ago...

** Some of the guys were talking about how they used to play Hacky Sack (sp.?) -- and how they should start up again. This is just something I would love to see. *laughs*

*****

I finally left for home, because I still had school in the morning. Hooray for rides!! Tim agreed to take me home, and as we waited for the driver to come get us, I teased him, "Now, see, this is the best part of my night! Standing on a street corner, with you, in Moscow!!" He definitely got a kick about it.

On the way home, Tim and I chatted about both his manner of speech (I was right that Dane Cook had been a big influence; and Tim also filled me in that there was a radio jockey where he'd lived who was also a huge influence.) He also filled me in on something called, "The Cube." It appears to be some kind of personality assessment that he will do for/with people that he meets -- and it sounds like something really cool!! Interesting way of getting to know a person.

*****

We'll all be getting together tomorrow night; again, after I finish practice. I think we'll just chilling at the "House," saying good-bye to Lissay.

**********

Thankfully, tonight, my homework is all finished! I merely have to decide that I don't want anymore Oreos or Candy; wash my face, brush my teeth, and fall into bed! (With it being almost 2:30 now, and having to be up at 7, doing all that sooner rather than later would *probably* be a good idea!)

Love, Happily,
