As I said above, I wound up going to bed at 9:30 AM. Because *that* was a good idea….
**********
The evening was spent at my first practice with Roma since I'd returned. This was also our first practice for about a month…
After we finished, Roma told me there was a fee, for having used the floor. Before I could stop myself, I blurted out:
"Wait, we have to pay???"
I almost got all indignant.

I should probably explain here, that either because of a non-official deal + Moscow getting a new mayor, or documents not being up to date, or one of a million red-tape items that are possible in Russia, my dance studio no longer has its own dance hall to work in.
The terrible humor of the best Latin studio in the entirety of the Russian Federation not having its own place aside, this is actually a very grave issue, because it means that there is now no place where I / my partner and I / all of us members of the club can go do dance for 3+ hours per day, for free, time and space allowing.
I guess some of this was covered at the club meeting, which was rescheduled to take place while I was still out of the country. =-_-=
*****
The night didn't go too much better. I forgot to call Vitaly back… =-_-=
I realized it not quite an hour after I should have called, and I felt so bad about it, I actually told the first lie I've told in years… I wrote him a quick text message and said, "I'm sorry I didn't call, my mum wanted to talk to me."
As I sat, chatting online with Yitian a little later, I told her what I'd said, and she responded:
Yitian:
LOLOLOLOLOL
it's harmless enough. i'm sure your mother WANTED to talk to you. She always does
that doesn't mean you are actually TALKING to her
Me:
*laughing*
I didn't even think of it that way!!
You are so clever.
I absolutely adore you.
Yitian:
well. I should be a lawyer
haha, see? you didn't even lie
Me:
Normally *I* am the one finding those loopholes. *laughs* That was an awesome play, cherie
Yitian:
obviously I have used that logic before
lol, i'm terrible sometimes
Me:
It's why I love you.
*****
I also love her for lines like this, referencing, "Tradition":
"*Technically* It's tradition to nail sinners to a cross… But that doesn't mean you *may* -- All it means, is that someone has done it before." Yitian
Oh, Yitian -- you light up my life. He he he!

I also found THIS highly amusing tidbit, in an online article:
"Ladies, you will see Russian women tottering along the street in 4-inch stiletto boots and think you too can do it. You cannot. It is in their DNA to walk gracefully in high heels on ice while we slip and slide in our most practical shoes." 10 ways to survive a Russian winter vacation | Gadling.com
-- I had to laugh, when I read this, because *I* can do that. In fact, I did it yesterday. Muwah ha ha!
Love,
Moscow Kitty
