As it stands, I didn't get to be in bed for long….
To start with, I had the, "Adventure of the broken window handle." -- Thank God for Superglue. Fixed it right as rain. … After I realized I'd glued the handle on upside down -- and then had to "break" it again, to glue it in the right position. = @_@ =
Then, I was thinking of getting myself cleaned up, but I heard my host family all getting ready for their days -- so there was definitely no time for me to do so.
And after that, I got an 11 AM phone call from Jon! He called to tell me that I would be moving to my new host family's house either *tonight* or tomorrow!! I told him there was no way I could move tonight, on such short notice (I thought, "Are you kidding me?!") -- so we agreed I'd move tomorrow. Then we ran into another problem. At first, Jon told me that I would need to move all my stuff back to the dorm, and *then* I would move to my host family's house. This was unacceptable and problematic for two reasons. The first, is that my new host family's house is a few stops down my metro line from mine; so it would be utterly ridiculous for me to go all the way to the university dorm, only to have to turn around and come right back to my former area. The second, and more important, is that I have a lot of stuff here. A lot. Not because I brought useless things -- but because I actually have a life here… So, I have all of my dance things, for instance; or I like to read, and [English] books are cheap here -- so I have that library that I've been building; and then there are my school things; and lately, clothes for more than one season (because I've been here for more than one). I didn't even want to think about the idea of trying to pack all of it into a taxi, unload it at the dorm, repack a taxi, and unload it to my new family's house. Not cool.
Worse, if I'm moving tomorrow, and if it's like how they took us to our host families before, I'll move in the evening, and that means I won't get to go see the movie with Pete… =>_<= I'll have to ask Jon for sure, what time we are moving.
All that said, now I basically have two hours to pack and shower, then I need to get off to dance, and I'm supposed to work tonight! I will ask to go home early, because of this move. Ack.
**********
I wound up having an hour of practice, which was tough -- I'd been out of heels for a long, long time -- but it was not bad towards the end-use.
I called Ahsain while on my way to dance, and explained my situation with the move, and he was gracious enough to understand my not being able to come in -- so I went home, and spent the whole night packing.
Oh joy.
