Journal 124

Journal 124

5-20-10

An hour after I laid down, it was time to get up!! We grabbed all of our stuff, and headed downstairs, to check on when the bus would arrive to take us to the airport.

People were bustling around, trying to figure out if they were overweight, or underweight with their bags; others were trying to find those who only had one checked back to take on another one (instead of having to pay for 3 checked bags); others were simply trying to find space in people's bags for their excess weight.

I took a little walk to go buy breakfast, and on the way back, I called my parents, with a final check in. I knew that once we got to the airport, it would be a horrendous time, in the US, to call.

Eventually, the bus arrived, we loaded it up, and piled on.

As we wound our way through the city, Moscow threw a few last minute things of interest at me:

*I got a few more nice building shots.

*I finally saw my first bears in Russia! (… Painted on a hospital!!)

*And I saw a poster advertising that Guns n' Roses is coming to Moscow!!! -- That certainly was a kicker for me! I thought of one of my best friends, and knew he'd also get a kick out of having seen that.

Then, the exhaustion kicked in, and I passed the hell out on the bus, the rest of the way in to the airport.

I won't bore anyone with the details of getting checked in, getting on the plane, etc. -- almost everyone knows what that process is like. But I do have to say, amongst all of my compatriots, and the rest of the passengers on the plane, I'm quite sure I had a very *unique* thought running through my head, after all that time in Russia, as we were flying home:

I can't *wait* to go shooting!!! I'm gonna get to hold my rifle again!!!

Ha ha ha ha ha -- I am my Father's daughter, and my Granddaddy's granddaughter.
