Journal 117
5-13-10
Apparently, I was more exhausted than I knew -- I fell asleep again (You know -- the drooling, out of it kind of sleep.) for another 45 minutes after I woke up. (Don't you just hate it when that happens?)
I decided to just take my time getting ready, and be good and late today. Might as well, right?
Actually, it turned out to be a really good thing that I was late for a few reasons!
First, as I was walking by my favorite music store there by the Metro, I heard one of my favorite songs, "Can't Take My Eyes Off Of You!" My mood was *instantly* improved as I passed by, and sang along. I adore that store, and love, love, love walking by and hearing songs like that, which make me so very happy.
After that, when I walked into school at 9:30, and tried to find my RD to tell him I was there, I found Lilia Leonidovna and Galina Mikhailovna instead -- who both rushed to complimenting me -- "prelest (charming, beautiful girl)'" "solsntsa (sun)" "angel" -- the second they saw me!! Galina called me her angel, at one point, and then Lilia piped right up saying, "She's not just your angel, she's my angel, too!!"
=^////^= '' My goodness!!!
We chatted for five minutes or so, and I headed on to class; where I got a bit of a (light hearted) talking to -- "Don't be this late on Monday!" (Because we have our final.)
The rest of the day was pretty fun, actually. We sang for all of Phonetics again, and we had our SMI (Russian Media) final. (Although Anya and Anita apparently didn't realize this. Good, God.)
After SMi, I actually ate lunch with Andrei Dmitrievich. We had a really interesting conversation, where he asked me why I was studying Russian; and in return, I asked him why he chose to study French. Great times.
After school, we did our entire group photo, for the semester and year kids, and then I had my Phone interview. This was the follow up to the initial phone interview we had back in January, and will be the one that shows me how much improvement I have made, orally. The interviews were only supposed to be 10-15 minutes long, but mine lasted for 20!!!

I skedaddled home after that; read for a little while, and grabbed a nap.
I left for practice, disappointed that I didn't have lessons again today. I had tried to get a hold of Vitaly -- but today, apparently, I just wasn't understandable to him!
Practice, while not bad, wasn't so great as it was yesterday -- but it was much funnier! This is because I wound up sharing some of my homework and lesson materials with the girls -- and they got *so* excited!!! They were passing one of the papers that I'd written all around -- and I certainly was a little self conscious about it, but it was all just fine. They were saying that they'd love to help me, and then asking if I wouldn't mind helping them with their English work from time to time. Of course I wouldn't mind that at all, and they were thrilled to hear me say so.
Tonight, I finally met Maria and her partner -- this is another teaching pair that I have seen, although I don't know if they dance at Vitaly's level, or above it. They are INCREDIBLE, too!! Maria's partner was kind enough to give me a ride to the Metro, as he, Maria, and Alec were going that way. I don't even know his name!! I will have to ask him tomorrow, so that I can say thank you.
Speaking of tomorrow, I *finally* have a lesson then!!

The journey home was less than boring tonight, too.
I heard a BEAUTIFUL violinist in the Metro!! The music was so lovely and expressive that it almost made me get off of the train, just to go listen to it!!
Much less lovely, I think someone tried to pick me up like a prostitute before I got home. = O_o = Thank you, God, for sidewalks that are a good distance away from the road. WTF.
Also, note to men -- pulling over and STOPPING on the side of the road, then walking around to the TRUNK of your big, black SUV, *opening* it, and trying to wave a girl over to you while you are standing by said, open trunk, is NOT going to entice any sane girl to come over to you.
That unpleasantness aside, once I got home, I got another shower tonight! Yay!

As for tomorrow's plans, I have RLASP Testing, so we get a later start to the day. That's nice. As it's 1:15 AM, I'm probably spelling my doom again, still being up.
I'm trying to make lists of all the things I need to do while in the States, and the things I need to buy before I get there, so that they will be on their way to me, and arrive when I am there.
I am, and have been, looking forward to this shopping. *laughs* The make-up and the Lindor Balls are already at home. :D
Dance things are next, I suppose.
Neways, bedtime here!
Love,
Moscow Kitty; 1:16 AM

PS - UGH, I'm SO behind on journals again!!! … Of course, I'm also behind on some assignments that have needed to be turned in (excursion questions, really). That's going to be fun. = @_@ =
